Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Imaging Services Manager to join our Urgent and Emergency Care team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and developing a high-quality, efficient, patient-focused diagnostic imaging service. This role involves leading by example, providing specialist advice, and managing the training and development of all department staff. The Imaging Services Manager will oversee the operational and strategic management of the team, equipment, and facilities, ensuring a cost-effective service. Additionally, the role includes collaborating on policy development, monitoring service delivery, and ensuring compliance with local, regional, and national KPIs.
Key Responsibilities
1. To be responsible for, maintain and develop a high quality, efficient, patient-focused diagnostic imaging service.
2. To lead by example and provide highly specialist advice to all grades of Radiographers, Assistant Practitioners, Radiology Department Assistants and all other non-Medical team members employed within the department.
3. To manage and provide training and knowledge to all department staff, promoting an ethos of continuous professional development.
4. To undertake delegated management of all team members employed within the Radiology Department.
5. To lead, support and monitor a service which is cost-effective, through operational and strategic management of the team, equipment, facilities and innovative use of available resources.
6. To complete the business planning processes for the department, identifying cost improvements and service developments.
7. To develop and implement policies, standard operating procedures, and service improvements.
8. To monitor and evaluate service delivery, ensuring compliance with KPIs.
9. To manage recruitment, selection, and HR policies to encourage staff retention.
10. To prepare and present reports on departmental performance.
11. To collaborate with Radiologists and other team leaders on clinical and quality audits.
