Job Description:
With 17,000 staff working together to deliver diplomatic, development and consular work around the world, the work of The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) can be felt in every continent. From managing international development funds through to offering timely travel advice, we make a vital contribution to keeping British citizens safe and improving the life outcomes of people everywhere.
Your role with us:
As a member of the Finance Operations Services department, you will provide seamless administrative support and corporate services to FCDO colleagues both in the UK and around the world. Committed to developing your skills and knowledge, you will take ownership of internet banking requirements and use financial systems such as Oracle to process transactions and receipts, ensuring every entry is accurate. This will include checking invoices for mismatches, reconciling payments, and calculating and paying pension benefits. You will also monitor budgets, raise purchase orders, issue invoices, and handle credit card issues to ensure successful resolutions.
With administrative duties such as organising meetings and creating databases and distribution lists, you will also provide project management support. This may involve monitoring progress, identifying and mitigating risks, and maintaining accurate records. Regardless of your tasks, you will be committed to delivering the highest level of customer support, making you an integral part of our team.
Who we are looking for:
To thrive in our fast-paced team, you will be a highly organised individual with the ability to prioritise your workload and deliver tasks on time. We seek analytical individuals eager to develop their careers, so if you wish to learn about commercial and procurement policies and compliance procedures, you will excel with us.
Proficient in the use of Windows 10 and Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Outlook, Teams, and Excel), you will be quick to learn. Crucially, you will be numerate and possess good verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable making effective decisions, you will enjoy problem-solving and have a sharp eye for detail. You must be a British Citizen and willing to attain Developed Vetting security clearance.
In return, we offer a fascinating career path with the scope to support both national and international priorities. With the option for hybrid working, you will need to spend at least 60% of your time in the office, but we are willing to discuss flexible arrangements to accommodate your lifestyle commitments. We will also provide a desirable benefits package, including access to a generous Civil Service Pension.
If you are ready to kickstart your career with the support of a team dedicated to your success, we would be delighted to hear from you.
