Salary – £90,000 > £120,000 + Benefits
We are partnered with a Global Information Technology company who have a strong foothold and focused division within the Finance Industry.
They are currently looking for a number of Business analysts to work on a Hybrid basis in London. The successful candidates will be supporting and enhancing the operations of equity swaps within a financial institution. Here are the main responsibilities and skills typically associated with this role:
Responsibilities for the Business Analyst will include but are not limited to:
* Process Analysis and Optimization : Analyze the end-to-end processes in equity swaps, from trade execution through settlement, to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements.
* Requirements Gathering : Collaborate with stakeholders (traders, risk managers, operations teams) to understand business needs and translate them into functional requirements for technology and operations teams.
* Project Management : Lead or support project initiatives that affect equity swaps, including system upgrades, regulatory compliance efforts, and new product implementations.
* Data Analysis and Reporting : Generate and analyze data reports related to equity swap transactions, P&L, risk exposure, and settlement metrics to support decision-making.
* Regulatory Compliance : Ensure equity swap operations comply with regulations (e.g., EMIR, Dodd-Frank) and work on reporting obligations related to swap trades.
* System Implementation and Support : Work on the implementation and testing of systems related to equity swaps, such as trading, settlement, and risk management platforms.
* Stakeholder Communication : Act as a bridge between the technical teams and business units, ensuring clear communication of project goals, timelines, and updates.
* Risk Management : Support risk management by identifying and mitigating operational risks related to equity swaps, including market and counterparty risks.
Key skills for the Business Analyst will include but are not limited to:
* In-depth knowledge of Swap products – TRS. Portfolio Swaps, Basket Swaps and Synthetic Prime Business.
* Detailed knowledge of Swaps Trading Lifecyle
* Documentation (BRD, SRS, Test Cases) and Agile development methodology
* Financial Knowledge : Strong understanding of equity derivatives, especially equity swaps, and knowledge of related markets.
* Analytical Skills : Proficiency in data analysis, typically using SQL, Excel, or other analytical tools.
* Project Management : Experience in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile) to support the development and implementation of solutions.
* Technical Skills : Familiarity with systems like Bloomberg, Reuters, and specialized trading or settlement systems; knowledge of SQL, VBA, or Python is often beneficial.
* Regulatory Knowledge : Awareness of key regulatory frameworks impacting equity swaps, such as EMIR and Dodd-Frank.
