Your role and responsibilities work closely with colleagues across the Archives Service to develop and implement a communications and marketing strategy for all aspects of the service, from users accessing the archives at The Hold through to our exhibitions, events and commercial venue hire produce, edit, and publish marketing materials, including press releases, social media posts, newsletters, brochures, and digital content coordinate promotional campaigns for exhibitions, events, and service updates to drive public engagement and awareness manage media relations, including drafting press releases, arranging interviews, and responding to press enquiries support the Archive Service team in planning and executing community events, exhibitions, and workshops. You will need prior knowledge and experience of media studies or journalism (ideally a level 5 qualification) proven experience in a marketing or communications role, ideally within the public sector, cultural, or archival services excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously experience with digital and social media marketing, including content creation and analytics proficiency with design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) is an advantage. The team Suffolk Archives is a small, flexible, proactive team that is passionate about sharing Suffolk’s local history and heritage with a wider audience. You will work with the collections team of archivists and conservator, the Operations team who run the public service and the Audience Development Team who are responsible for the programme of exhibitions, events and community engagement.
