Electrical Workshop Technician Main purpose of role: Responsible for the day-to-day workshop duties, including the test and maintenance of company equipment, build and commissioning of new equipment, modification, and upgrades. Documentation of all testing, inventory and stock checking and ensuring workshop areas are kept clean, efficient, and safe. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Ensure all equipment is off hired, tested, maintained, and upgraded in accordance with system / OEM procedures and ensure all works are completed and documented to a high standard. Conduct inventories of equipment and ensure stock levels are maintained and reordered when necessary. Assist workshop team in the maintenance and preparation of systems prior to deployment. Ensure all activities are carried out with the highest regard to quality, health, safety and the environment and that safe work practices are always maintained in compliance to company QHSE policies. Ensure that all work is undertaken to the highest quality and professionalism in accordance with company processes and procedures. Liaise with Workshop Supervisor to ensure workshop work area is kept in a clean, presentable, and safe manner. Ensure all plant equipment and tools are operated in a safe manner. Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks and any company health and safety initiatives. Observe the company policies and procedures relating to work, administration, Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality (HSEQ) and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG). PERSON SPECIFICATION Knowledge: Industrial electrical experience, preferably with voltages up to 440 Volts AC. Understanding of 3phase electrical switch gear including fault diagnosis. Build and test of 3phase electrical panels. Experience of Hydraulic Power Units, including testing and fault diagnosis of the electrical components i.e. Star / Delta System, 3phase Motor, Electrical Contactors etc. Good standard of practical application and knowledge of Electrical / Electronic principles and components. Able to assemble, test and maintain Electrical / Electronic systems, components and circuitry following engineering instructions, technical manuals, and drawings. Good understanding of problem solving and capable of identifying and rectifying problems with Electronic / Electrical systems. Able to read, comprehend and follow wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, OEM manuals and engineering instructions. Skills & Competencies : Basic computer skills including use of Microsoft Word. Qualifications and certification: ONC / HNC / Apprenticeship / City and Guilds within an Electronic / Electrical discipline. Time served industry experience within a Electronic / Electrical role. Recognised High Voltage Training, High Voltage Switchgear awareness is desirable. Experience: Maintenance, servicing, and testing of Electrical / Electronic equipment in a workshop / offshore environment. Experience with hand tools, test equipment and workshop environments. Experience of wiring, testing and fault diagnosis of electric motor starter panels and switchgear is desirable. Working with ROV Equipment / Sensors is desirable.
