Job overview
The Occupational Therapy department has an opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our integrated Acute Inpatient Therapy team at PAH.
This is a specialist post within our Emergency Department (ED), Short Stay assessment wards, and Frailty service. We pride ourselves on delivering a high-quality service in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
You will work collaboratively with key stakeholders to develop innovative ways of working that align with the NHS 5-year plan, including participation in various workstreams.
You will work closely alongside other therapists within the integrated therapy model, supporting junior team members and students on clinical placement.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for providing a high standard of assessment, advice, treatment, and evaluation of patients in the Emergency Department, Frailty Assessment Unit, and Short Stay Assessment Units.
You will work as part of an MDT to support patient flow, using clinical reasoning to identify appropriate frailty patients and facilitating patient transfers.

Qualifications
* Degree in OT
* HCPC Registration
* Member of RCOT
Experience
* Wide range of clinical experience, including rotations in core areas of OT
* Experience of working in an ED
* Experience of supervising staff/students
Knowledge
* Clear, concise English written communication
* Ability to organise and prioritise work
* Detailed understanding of a wide range of medical conditions
