LEUKAEMIA CARE JOB DESCRIPTION
Job title: Data Manager
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Remuneration: Circa £38,000 dependent on experience
Type of contract: Permanent
Location: Hybrid from our Worcester Office 1 Birch Court, Blackpole Road, Worcester WR3 8SG, a minimum of 2 days a week
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
Work closely with: All managers but especially the Policy and Evidence Manager, account manager for the Raisers Edge and Asana project management software, and with our external IT support providers as needed.
Overview
This is a new role and it sits within the Operations Team. It has three main strands:
1. Ensuring our data capture and management is compliant with all legal requirements and best practice. This will require reviewing existing policy and process and implementing new ones.
2. Advising on the capture and management of data to evidence the need for and impact of our services and campaigns and implementing the necessary processes to drive improvements.
3. Ensuring our database is fit for purpose by developing and implementing the necessary training of staff, running quality checks and assessing and implementing any software that improves data management.
Duties and responsibilities
1. Mapping the flow of data across the organisation and making recommendations.
2. Ensure data capture and management at the charity is compliant with GDPR and the Data Protection Act implementing any necessary policies and procedures.
3. Maintain, enhance and develop data quality checks and associated processes to improve the integrity and usefulness of the data in Raisers Edge NXT.
4. Support managers in ensuring best practice in data management is implemented into each teams’ processes.
5. Critically examine existing processes and drive process improvement across database stakeholders and users – including working alongside Patient Service and Fundraising Managers to drive improvements in stewardship of, and service delivery for, patients, carers and donors.
6. Working with the HR Manager develop induction training on the Raisers Edge NXT and Asana project management software for new starters which can be hosted on our learning platform.
7. Working with the Policy and Evidence Manager, to develop data capture and reporting to evidence the impact and need for our services.
8. Provide regular reports on your work and against your goals to your line manager.
9. Use the Asana project management tool to track projects and processes across teams as appropriate.
10. Support the Operations Team with wider duties as needed and where appropriate.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications, training and education
Essential
* GCSE English and Maths or equivalent
* Excellent IT skills: MS Office, Teams and Sharepoint
Desirable
* Project management software such as Asana or other software
Experience
Essential
* Demonstrable experience of managing a database on behalf of an organisation
* Experience of developing data quality rules and enhancing the quality of data held in a CRM system
* Experienced in championing and demonstrating the benefits of good data management practices
* Experience in training and mentoring staff in the use of CRM systems
* Demonstrable experience of running complex projects
Desirable
* Experience of working with CRMs in the charity sector
* Using project management tools such as Asana
* Using Blackbaud’s The Raiser’s Edge NXT
Skills / Abilities / Knowledge
Essential
* Understanding of data protection/GDPR legislation and its implementation
* Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to draw insights and inform decisions.
* Experience working across organisations with a variety of disciplines, teams and business processes demonstrating excellent internal stakeholder management skills; diplomatic, assertive
