About The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Assistant Management Accountant to support the Brett Aggregates management accounts team. We are seeking a detail-orientated and proactive person who will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the organisation.
The role is largely based at the Brett Aggregates head office in Faversham and will report to the Finance Manager. This role forms an integral part of the production of the monthly accounts, forecasts and budgets, and will work closely and collaboratively with other members of the finance team to provide financial information and reporting to a high standard.
About Your Role
Working closely with other functions means this role can be varied and interesting for a finance professional with an inquisitive mind and an eagerness to learn.
Preparing accurate monthly management accounts, including accruals and prepayments.
Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and resolving any discrepancies.
Maintaining and posting sales records.
Processing payroll journals, and involvement in accounting for the central overhead costs at Brett Aggregates.
Roll forward of key monthly reports and stock sheets, and posting stock journals.
Contributing to continuous process improvement and maintaining financial controls.
We're Looking For
Someone with an eye for detail and a commitment to precision.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to demonstrate the ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
A team player with a flexible approach who is happy to roll up their sleeves when needed, but also uses their initiative and is able to work independently.
A strong working knowledge of MS Excel and previous experience of posting journals and querying an accounting ledger, such as IFS.
Experience of stock accounting would be an advantage.
The ideal candidate will hold relevant accounting qualifications such as AAT Level 3, and will have experience within a similar role.
