Broad post-registration experience in secondary care and an aseptics and/ or clinical trials background will be beneficial to this role. Our team works across a broad range of commercial, academic, and Imperial-sponsored trials, screening and delivering a variety of specialised therapies to patients. With circa 300 active trials managed by passionate professionals, you'll find an exciting landscape with the emerging development of personalised and precision medicines. Be a part of our team, a close-knit group spanning the Charing Cross Hospital, Hammersmith Hospital, St Mary's Hospital, Queen Charlotte's & Chelsea Hospital and the Western Eye Hospital. Act as liaison to one of our dispensaries, ensuring clinical trials are prepared safely and efficaciously. You will be training pharmacy technicians, pharmacists, and assistants in clinical trials within the dispensary, contributing to our legacy of excellence. Through our association with Imperial College London, the Imperial Clinical Research Facility (ICRF), CRUK Imperial Centre, and various other research units, we have a global reputation for breaking new grounds in clinical and biomedical research. In this highly specialist role you will advise and assist research teams to set-up and run clinical trials which will give our patients access to the latest potential new treatments anywhere in the UK. You will have your own portfolio of studies to deliver and the ability to act independently but with the backing of expert support in the clinical trials and dispensary teams in Pharmacy and the close relations we have with the specialist research teams. Main duties of the job To maintain and develop the Pharmacy dispensary clinical trial service to ensure smooth running of clinical trials. To assist research teams, Sponsors and others in the setting up and running of clinical trials, liaising with relevant parties with regard to all pharmaceutical aspects of clinical trials involving pharmaceutical preparations, and to provide advice to research teams and the clinical trials team on dispensing of products. To co-ordinate all pharmaceutical aspects of clinical trials requiring dispensing or supply and to be responsible for ensuring the effective, efficient and high quality supply of medications to patients undertaking clinical trials. Ensuring that all pharmacy, and where appropriate nursing and medical, staff are appropriately advised and trained on the running and dispensing of clinical trials. To assist feasibility teams in costing queries to enable financial agreements for clinical trials to drawn up accurately and quickly and in accordance with Trust and national guidelines. To ensure that wherever possible all monies due to pharmacy are invoiced, collected and necessary records maintained, in liaison with research teams, Joint Research Office and the pharmacy clinical trials team. To actively identify opportunities to improve the quality and efficiency of the clinical trials service and to work with the Lead Pharmacists for Clinical Trials to harmonise and better the service.
