We're looking for a Management Accountant to work for our client.
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Management Accountant to join our Client’s Group – Rail Finance team, supporting the Core Valley Lines - Transport for Wales. This role will be based in Taffs Well, requiring your presence in the Transport for Wales office three days per week.

Your Role
As a Management Accountant for CVL, you will assume both operational and strategic responsibilities to ensure the financial success of the contract. You will be an integral part of the project leadership team, tasked with implementing robust financial controls and driving necessary changes.
Key responsibilities include:
Producing management accounts, P&L statements, cash flow reports, and balance sheets.
Interacting with commercial and operational teams to maximize value and ensure excellent governance.
Providing financial oversight and challenge to the team.Key Details

Format: Hybrid (2-3 days on site), located in Taffs Well with occasional travel to Cardiff, Bristol, or Birmingham

Skills: Advanced Excel skills required (Vlookup, pivots, etc.)About our Client
It’s an engineering firm located in Cardiff, seeking an interim candidate to support management accounts and various projects. They are looking to transition this role into a permanent contract.
Responsibilities
Preparing income statements, balance sheets, and other financial documents
Measuring financial performance based on financial records
Identifying problem areas and presenting recommendations to management
Supervising the internal accounting team
Performing departmental audits
Overseeing financial operations such as bookkeeping and payroll
Evaluating and improving financial information systemsWhat You'll Need to Succeed
Qualified or QBE accountant
Experience in management accounting
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data
Proficiency in financial systems and tools
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Strong Excel skillsKnowledge of SAP is advantageous.
Working Hours
Standard hours of work are 37.5 hours per week.Pay Rates
Basic PAYE: £173.08 daily (Basic PAYE)Transition to Permanent Role
