We are seeking a Project Engineer for a full-time permanent position on behalf of our client based in Scunthorpe.
Package: £55,000 BASIC SALARY
Schedule: Monday – Friday / 08:00 – 16:00 (Flexible working hours)
Description
The role is responsible for owning and assisting in all stages of site based projects (Electro Mechanical FMCG) throughout their full life cycle from ideation to delivery/handover ranging from minor capex ( <£10k ) through to main capital ( <£500k ).
You will require an in-depth understanding of modern maintenance tools and techniques as well as the ability to collect and analyse data to drive forward informed decisions and projects to support machine reliability along with site goals.

Must Haves
• Appropriate Engineering / manufacturing qualification at NVQ level 3 or above
• HNC in engineering discipline
• Understands processes and equipment within FMCG environment’s
• Solid engineering background to provide experience to support the role
• Experience delivering projects or improvements
• Ability to engage with a wider team to involve stakeholders in project scope/implementation
Desirables
• Project management qualification
• Degree within engineering
• Extensive IT skills in MS package and other packages such as AutoCAD
• IOSH, NEBOSH or equivalent
• Contractor control experience and CDM
• Understanding and application of management of change
• Electrical/automation background/experience
• Previous experience in a food background
• Food handling qualification/understanding of HACCP
• Experience with a CMMS
• Contractual agreements/contracts
Role Accountabilities
Ability to deliver projects on site with varying disciplines on a typical FMCG environment: Facilities projects, New machinery installations, Line optimisation/improvements, Automation upgrades, Utility upgrades, Civils works and builds
Supporting Engineering manager to lead projects on site been the go to contact for assigned projects. Ensures all relevant stakeholders are engaged and involved throughout the full project life cycle and implementation. Ensures full project completion from ideation, initial scope, URS, Implementation, handover. Use of project management techniques to support the above.
Working alongside Engineering and operations supporting identifying key trending performance issues around reliability and performance losses. Ability to work with OEM’s and uses own experiences to identify root cause and corrective action and ensures the 360 degree full loop closure to share learning, training needs and improvements to PPM schedules and spare part replacement as delivery as a project.
Financially astute to manage project budgets reporting into the Engineering Manager.
Leads and supervises project works arranged for external parties – Contractor management, permit to work, compliance and standards, escalation of issues and action plans
