Our Building Services team are looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join the team on one of our projects in London. The purpose of the role will be to assist in the provision of a general maintenance service, including the Grounds, covering a wide range of Fabric and building fittings associated with a large hospital.

Skanska’s teams support frontline workers in hospitals across the country. We help to manage and reduce hospital energy use, cutting carbon emissions and reducing waste disposal costs.
You’ll:
* Support the Estates Management in the provision of a 24hr maintenance Service within the LRH.
* Comply with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including Health and Safety legislation and in accordance with Health Technical Memorandums (HTM) and Health Building Notifications (HBN).
* Assist others and undertake minor fabric duties, including:
o Replacement of all types of ceiling tiles
o Minor paving repairs
o Minor vinyl skirting repairs
* Carry out minor building fabric carpenter duties, including:
o Repairs to doors
o Minor building repairs
* Perform cleaning and labouring tasks, including:
o Daily sweeps to estate grounds and maintaining bins
o Flat roof inspections and cleaning
o Minor brick work repairs
o Drain/gully cleaning
o Grounds and garden inspection and tidy
o Winter daytime gritting assistance
o Workshop cleaning
o Weekly waste compound cleans
o Riser inspections and cleaning
o Subway inspection and cleaning
* Undertake any training as required and provide training, guidance, technical advice and support to trainees and maintenance assistants.
* Engage in and support Skanska to create a culture of customer service and care via the IFE programme for both internal and external customers and partners, and liaise with other departments regarding maintenance issues if required.
* Undertake any other reasonable tasks and duties relevant to the post and grade as may be determined by the Estates Manager.
Minimum Requirements:
* Good knowledge of H&S Legislation and some knowledge of COSHH.
* Basic computer skills.
* Experience of building maintenance and systems.
* Experience of working in a hospital environment.
* Experience of working on specialist hospital equipment.
* Experience of lone working.
* Knowledge of hospital specifics (HTM’s).
* Knowledge of hospital Health Building Notifications (HBN).
