We've been a driving force behind the UK's renewable revolution for more than 25 years and, as the UK's largest electricity supplier, we provide all our customers' homes with electricity backed by 100% renewable sources as standard and at no extra cost.Key Responsibilities:We need someone to transition our gas weather risk and hedge outturn reporting (including a 14-day forecast) from Excel to Power BI, integrating with Snowflake for automatic daily updates. This will streamline reporting, enabling daily insights instead of weekly. You'll gain exposure to weather risk management and mitigation tools like weather derivatives.Additionally, you'll develop key metrics to assess a fundamental power price model, analyzing shapes, spreads, and price levels against historical data using statistical techniques. Your insights will help evaluate future investments and risks in a renewable-focused power market.These projects will enhance your Python\/Power BI skills and deepen your understanding of Energy Markets.What we need from youCurrent studies towards any level a Maths\/Stats based disciplineInterest in mathematical modelling and experience with Python (Power BI desirable but not required)Great communication skills and attention to detailComfortable working independently to set goals and objectivesHerewhat you need to knowFlexible working arrangement (anything between 10 and 37 hours a week)Flexible contract length to fit your studies (with a minimum commitment of 2 months), with flexible start and end datepro rata salaryHybrid working model (with a minimum of 40% in our Coventry office)Guidance and supervision as and when it's neededTo learn about an ever evolving and developing industry
