Tiverton High School is looking to appoint a hardworking and innovative teacher to fulfil this key role. The successful candidate will be well-qualified with exceptional subject knowledge and teach across the age and ability range in our 11-16 co-educational school. This role requires the candidate to have high expectations for themselves and students, excellent communication skills, and a commitment for continuous development. The English department is a supportive, dedicated, and experienced team who work hard to uphold the highest of expectations and deliver stimulating lessons. The purpose of your role will be:
• To be accountable, alongside the Subject Leader, for student progress and development in your classes
• To help develop and maintain the scheme of work for all key stages while ensuring it complies with the national curriculum, is varied and personalised, and is supplemented with a range of extra-curricular activities and opportunities.
• To ensure high standards of teaching and learning are established and maintained across the department.
• To help develop appropriate assessments across the key stages that are varied for all the needs of the students.
