WHAT YOUR DAY AS AN ELECTRICAL ENGINEER I ENTAILS:
* Electrical System Design & Analysis – Perform power distribution calculations, develop single-line diagrams, size electrical components, and conduct short-circuit and load flow analysis.
* Technical Drawings & Compliance – Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to create, refine, and review electrical system plans, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal codes.
* Project Coordination & Collaboration – Work closely with architects, facility managers, and project stakeholders to align electrical designs with project goals.
* Site Inspections & Construction Support – Conduct field surveys, energy audits, and inspections to verify project specifications, review shop drawings, and assist with construction administration.
* Regulatory & Code Compliance – Ensure designs adhere to industry standards such as IEEE, NFPA, Joint Commission, and FGI Guidelines for Healthcare Facilities.
* Energy Efficiency & Sustainability – Support sustainable initiatives by integrating energy-efficient solutions and understanding the USGBC LEED Rating System.
WHAT'S NEEDED:
* 5+ Years of Experience – Proven experience in electrical design for critical care and laboratory facilities.
* Proficiency in Load Analysis Software – Hands-on experience with lighting and electrical load analysis software.
* Technical & Design Software Skills – Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit, with experience in Building Information Modeling (BIM).
* Understanding of Industry Standards & Codes – Familiarity with IEEE, NFPA, Joint Commission regulations, and FGI Guidelines for Hospitals & Outpatient Facilities.
* Time Management & Adaptability – Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines effectively.
* Excellent Communication & Technical Writing – Strong ability to convey complex ideas, document technical specifications, and prepare reports/presentations.
* Professional Engineer (PE) Licensure – Must be actively working towards licensure.
