Established SMEs are the backbone of local communities - representing over a third of our economy - yet have been largely neglected both by traditional high street banks and modern fintech providers Role Description Reporting to the Senior Central Relationship Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the in-life lending and servicing needs of Allica’s SME clients, both those originated through our intermediary channels and direct to customer relationship teams. As our lending book continues to mature and grow, we are looking via this newly created role for a Central Relationship Manager to be the first point of contact for our clients’ loan support and servicing needs. This role then presents a unique opportunity to work with customers from across our Distribution channels, being a first point of contact for their in-life loan and servicing needs, taking ownership of enquires and through working with the relevant teams across Allica ensuring these are delivered on to the highest standards. First and foremost, though this is a relationship driven role, and so we are seeking candidates comfortable to engage and build rapport with business owners, passionate and curious to understand their business plans and ambitions and how Allica can support their aspirations. Principal Accountabilities Providing support to and maintaining relationships with our existing lending customers who have been introduced both via our network of external introducers and through our direct to customer channels You will see all interactions with customers as an opportunity to build outstanding relationships and to understand a business's plans and ambitions, in turn allowing you to identify and discuss other opportunities such as Allica’s Business Rewards Current Account where we may be able support a client's financial goals. Through working closely with the relevant teams across Allica supporting customers with in life lending and servicing requests, including but not limited to capital repayment holidays, loan restructures and lease consents. Undertaking risk management through proactively acting on loan early warning indicators and data flags, working closely with Allica’s underwriting and relationship management teams to ensure that potential credit concerns are identified, captured and clients proactively supported, in line with the relevant procedures and escalated to the Collections & Recoveries Team where appropriate. Supporting the Relationship Management team with their existing client lending portfolios. You’ll be able to evidence an ability to work expertly with customers, colleagues and advisors to quickly understand a customers business requirements, and then being able to execute their requests in a time efficient manner. You are a trusted partner for customers, building deep, multi-layered relationships. Working closely and collaboratively with all areas of Allica to ensure a seamless and professional service is always provided. Complying with all mandatory policies, and adherence to operational procedures to maintain internal controls. Personal Attributes & Experience A deep passion for serving SMEs. Self-starter, organised and committed to succeeding in a flexible environment. A commitment to service excellence, Banking documentation knowledge and lending transaction management skills A track record of building trust based and long-lasting relationships, and the ability to develop new business on the back of these. A good grasp of credit skills and risk assessment, including the ability to analyse and review financial accounts and associated information. You will need to have a strong understanding of SME banking, which should include a strong background in commercial lending. You will be able to demonstrate a history of exemplary level of service, and of maximising the value with prospects and customers. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills together with evidence of strong career progression and/or outperformance. You’ll be able to evidence an ability to work expertly with customers, colleagues and advisors to quickly understand a customer's business requirements, and then being able to execute their requests in a time efficient manner. You’ll have a proven track record in providing excellent customer service, and in generating new income opportunities whilst effectively managing credit risk.
