Refrigeration Development Engineer
Location: Bognor Regis
Working Hours: 07:45 - 17:15, Monday - Thursday (4 Day working week)
My client is based on the South Coast in sunny Bognor Regis and is looking to expand its technical team. They are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to assist in the development of new products and maintenance/improvements to the existing range. This role would suit individuals who have hands-on refrigeration experience and basic electrical knowledge.
The company specializes in designing and manufacturing bespoke precision-controlled fridges, freezers, and incubators from design concept and prototype stage through to full production and dispatch. They are capable of building products that can reliably maintain any temperature between -50ºC and +85ºC.

Job Title: Refrigeration Development Engineer
Hours: 36 hours per week (07:45-17:15 Mon-Thurs)
Purpose and Objectives of the Role:
Responsible for the development of new products and the maintenance and improvement of the existing range of products.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Work closely with CAD designers to lead the development and manufacture of refrigeration systems on prototype units for testing and evaluation.
2. Carry out performance testing of refrigerators and refrigeration systems.
3. Propose appropriate design improvements and potential cost savings across our range of products.
4. Provide technical support to our production team to resolve issues.
5. Field visits as required to provide on-site customer support.
6. Develop quality control procedures for new refrigeration designs to ensure consistency.
7. Ability to self-educate to overcome new technical challenges and keep abreast of the latest innovations within the industry.
Essential Criteria & Experience:
1. Sound knowledge of refrigeration principles.
2. Must have F-Gas category 1 or 2.
3. Brazing.
4. Basic IT skills - Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Desirable Skills:
1. NVQ level 2 or equivalent refrigeration experience.
2. Working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD.
3. Basic electrical knowledge.
