Job Description:
We are currently looking for a Mechanically biased, Multiskilled Maintenance Technician to join an innovative, renowned manufacturing business based in Birtley. The Multiskilled Maintenance Technician role is permanent and will receive a salary between £36,750 and £42,574. Overtime is available and the technician will be required to be part of an on-call rota.
As a Multiskilled Maintenance Technician, you will:
1. Respond to and work on electrical and mechanical faults, breakdowns, and preventative maintenance tasks.
2. Support, engage, and interact with departments and individuals across the site and with external subcontractors and suppliers.
3. Work to company standards, processes, and procedures while supporting functional areas and resolving issues as requested.
4. Deliver responsibilities efficiently and with integrity, demonstrating strong communication skills and a proactive approach to developing new skills.
Typically, the work would cover a broad range of activities including installation, testing, fault finding, and ongoing planned maintenance of complex automated equipment. This requires the application of a complex blend of skills, knowledge, and occupational behaviours across the electrical, electronic, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems disciplines.
You will also be expected to:
1. Read and interpret relevant data and documentation used to maintain components, equipment, and systems.
2. Carry out condition monitoring of plant and equipment.
3. Conduct planned maintenance activities on plant and equipment.
4. Perform complex fault diagnosis and repair activities on high-technology engineered systems, such as mechanical equipment, fluid & pneumatic power equipment, electrical & electronic equipment, and process control equipment.
5. Carry out confirmation testing and subsequent smooth handover of equipment & plant support for the installation, testing, and commissioning of equipment.
