Our client is a small to medium-size general contractor established over 25 years ago and steadily growing. Due to this growth, they are now seeking a Quantity Surveying Project Manager to join their busy offices. Their projects vary from refurbishing small flats to basement excavations, and full house refurbishments.
Ideal Quantity Surveying Project Manager
* Pricing residential construction projects, based on tenders from the client's team, or in-house pricing schedules.
* Liaison with clients or clients’ consultants (i.e., engineers, architects, etc.) regarding administrative/commercial aspects (i.e., managing design changes, issuing valuations, pricing cost variations, RFIs, etc.) - including via emails, phone calls, meetings, etc.
* Liaison with site managers regarding contract works – issuing specifications, taking order requests, providing clarifications, and additional information.
* Liaison with subcontractors and monitoring cost changes, as well as subcontracting work packages where applicable.
* Liaison with suppliers and placing large value or special orders that require QS's input.
* Reporting to the director regarding the status and performance of individual projects.
* Other project management-related activities, including processing documentation, printing, etc.
* Other business-related activities - subject to requirements (i.e., bulk orders for joinery workshop, etc.).
Quantity Surveying Project Manager Requirements
* 5 years experience in a similar position and organization.
* Highly responsible for own work, including proving this via past experience.
* Effective communication skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Word.
* Experience with take-off software.
* Strong attention to detail and focus on tasks.
* Willingness to develop professionally and improve performance.
More about the role
Full time, permanent position. This is an office-based role in Kingston on Thames, with occasional site visits to our SW London projects.
Working hours: 8AM to 5PM – Monday-Friday.
Benefits
Remuneration will depend on experience and skills, starting from £60,000 yearly gross salary. Bonuses are subject to individual and company performance. 20 days holiday, with additional holiday negotiable.
