This is an exciting opportunity within the Neuro rehabilitation Outpatient and Community Service based at Colchester General Hospital.
You will work with Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Neuro Psychologists, Specialist Nurses and other support staff/external agencies.
You will implement, evaluate and progress therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation activities for patients with chronic and/or complex needs under the guidance/supervision of Occupational Therapists, Nurses and Physiotherapists.
The team is looking for someone to work with therapists and nurses to facilitate long-term management of a wide range of neurological conditions and to support the team with administrative tasks., Assist in the assessment and rehabilitation of patients; managing and prioritising own caseload as delegated by the qualified staff.
Treat patients individually without the direct supervision of a Therapist.
Help empower and encourage patients and their carers to self manage, and to have an active approach to regaining and maintaining personal independence. This requires empathy, sensitivity and good interpersonal skills.

To be able to determine whether a patient is fit for treatment or not and check with the Therapist / nurse if a patient appears unwell or there is an obvious problem.
The post-holder will perform defined treatment procedures within competencies as assigned by the professional staff.
To use judgement to ensure safety when rehabilitating patients, by continuous risk assessment throughout the day in all environments.
You will need to be an adaptable and mature person who has good communication and organisational skills.
We are looking for a motivated individual who is able to work independently, has good interpersonal skills and has effective time management ability.
Computer skills, car owner and driver are essential.
Within the team you will participate in clinical team meetings, in-service training, regular supervision, annual appraisal and peer support.
