The Director of Education at Sutton College of Technology plays a pivotal role in upholding the academic excellence of the institution. Reporting directly to the Board of Governors, the Director ensures the effective implementation of the College's educational strategies and policies. They lead and manage the education department, ensuring compliance, quality, and operational excellence in all academic-related activities.
Responsibilities
This is a dynamic role with a diverse set of responsibilities, including the following:
1. Implement the education strategy of the College, reporting to the board of governors.
2. Lead the education department of the college, acting as the ultimate academic authority.
3. Uphold the academic standards, quality, and compliance across the college.
4. Oversee all academic operations including admissions, teaching, assessment, external examining, and awards.
5. Ensure that all staff involved in academic operations are appropriately recruited, trained, and supported to undertake their roles and responsibilities.
6. Act as the chair of the Academic Board.
7. Approve every degree or certificate awarded by the College.
8. Directly manage the Head of Teaching and Head of Programmes.
