Wood is recruiting for a Lead Installation Engineer to join the team focusing on subsea projects within our Technical Consulting Division. This role will be based in our Staines office with hybrid working available; however, we recognise the value of remote working so are open to applications throughout the UK. The Role
The Lead Installation Engineer will focus on installation methodology and analysis for subsea pipelines and other subsea facilities, such as manifolds, protection structures, risers, cables and umbilicals; the analysis will be performed as part of the delivery of our projects across the globe for oil and gas, hydrogen and carbon capture service. The ideal candidate will have a sound technical understanding of standard industry installation analysis programs (OrcaFlex, etc.) and modelling the installation of subsea pipelines and other facilities as described above. The ability to write coherent reports and communicate effectively with clients and project management is an essential part of this role.

1. Engineering degree qualified.
2. Previous experience in a similar lead level role.
3. Requires previous experience of in-place and static/dynamic installation engineering of subsea pipelines and subsea facilities.
4. Experience in offshore and subsea construction operations including Risk Assessment and Management.
5. Familiarity with marine operations, vessel motions, offshore lifting operations, marine warranty/certifying authority requirements.
6. Knowledge of hydrogen transport and carbon capture pipeline systems.
7. Proven track record in FEED, detailed design and construction engineering.
8. Able to develop pipeline and subsea facilities installation analysis and procedures.
9. Familiar with the relevant international standards and Codes of Practice and competent in the design, specification and selection of pipeline and subsea systems to meet the requirements therein.
10. Experienced in the use of specialist software and Finite Element Analysis software (ORCAFLEX, FLEXCOM, ABAQUS, ANSYS).
11. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint is required.
12. Sound appreciation of all aspects of offshore energy sector developments.
