Our environmentally responsible disposal and refurbishment team are looking to grow our IT Recycling services department. We provide comprehensive services including collection, data destruction, refurbishment, and distribution of IT equipment across the UK and Europe. Our mission is to promote sustainability and reduce electronic waste by giving new life to used technology.
Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
Collection of IT Equipment:
* Assist and coordinate and execute the collection of IT equipment from various sources including businesses, government bodies and educational institutions.
* Ensure all collected equipment is properly logged and transported to our facilities.
Specification and Testing:
* Assess and document the specifications of incoming IT equipment, including computers, laptops, servers, and peripherals.
* Perform thorough testing of hardware components to identify functionality and any required repairs.
Data Destruction:
* Implement secure data destruction processes to ensure all data on collected equipment is irreversibly erased.
* Use industry-standard data wiping software and physical destruction methods to guarantee data security and compliance with regulations.
Refurbishment:
* Clean, repair, and upgrade IT equipment to restore it to a functional and marketable condition.
* Replace faulty components, install necessary software, and perform quality checks to ensure refurbished equipment meets company standards.
What you need to be successful:
* Knowledge of IT hardware components and basic troubleshooting.
* Experience with Apple and Microsoft OS and software.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision.
* Good organizational and time-management skills.
* Ability to lift and transport IT equipment safely.
* Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and online sales processes is a plus.
Entry Requirements:
* 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
* GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
* Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject
You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.
If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
