We’re looking for a dedicated and experienced Project Planner to join our esteemed Project Planning and Controls team. Job Overview Job Title: Project Planner Location: Falmer office / Site base (2 days in the Office/ Site, 3 days from home) Contract Type: Permanent Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (37 hrs) Salary: Up to £51,700 (depending on skills and experience) As a Project Planner, you will play a key role in supporting our Project Delivery team. Your primary focus will be ensuring that capital maintenance projects are delivered on time, to the highest quality, and within budget. You will be responsible for: Maintaining & Updating Schedules: Manage and update P6 schedules, collaborating with both internal teams and external contractors to ensure the schedules align with Southern Water’s standards. Meeting with Contractors: Attend meetings with Southern Water Contractors Planners to review and agree on changes to schedules before submission. NEC Contract Alignment: Support the delivery team by ensuring schedules adhere to the NEC contract appendices, including managing compensation events. Schedule Building: Work with the ETS team to develop schedules for projects at the start of their lifecycle, and ensure regular updates are collected from stakeholders. Site Meetings: Attend site meetings to foster relationships with delivery teams and contractors, improving your understanding of the water and wastewater programs. Stakeholder Communication: Represent the planning team in meetings with both internal senior stakeholders and external contractors, ensuring clear communication regarding project progress, updates, and challenges. About You To succeed in this role, you will need: Experience: A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a planning role, with expert-level knowledge of planning tools (P6 preferred but other tools considered). Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate confidently and clearly with senior stakeholders, contractors, and internal teams. Data Handling: Ability to manage and interpret large datasets, providing clear insights and regular updates. Your proficiency with Excel and understanding of cost tracking will be valuable. Leadership: Experience in planning or PMO Sector Experience: While experience in the water or wastewater sectors is beneficial, we encourage applicants from other industries to apply.
