Seniority Level: About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Multi-Skilled Electrician to join our dynamic team in the packaging industry, based in our Kegging team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong electrical background, complemented by mechanical knowledge and operational skills essential for maintaining and optimizing our packaging lines. Annual Salary: £ 52,201.30 Key Responsibilities: Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on electrical systems and mechanical components of packaging machinery. Ensure the smooth operation of packaging lines by conducting regular inspections and implementing preventative maintenance measures. Collaborate with the operations team to optimize machine performance and minimize downtime. Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and provide efficient solutions. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times. Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment. Provide training and guidance to operators on the proper use of machinery. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and quality. Essential Skills and Qualifications: Certified Electrician with an 18th Edition qualification or equivalent. Recognized apprenticeship with NVQ Level 3 and HNC industrial qualification or equivalent. Working for the Packaging Department you will work in a team consisting of multi skilled Technicians. You be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance support across high-speed line and support the day to day operation. Proven experience in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing or packaging environment. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues. Familiarity with packaging machinery and control systems. Proven knowledge and understanding of general 3ph motor control circuits and fault diagnosis. Experience in electrical troubleshooting and use of multimeter and megger. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Developing SOPs and learning documents to share best practice across shifts with respect to maintenance and CILs. Understanding of Continuous Improvements, HACCP and Food Safety protocols Undertake activities to support VPO compliance and sustainability. Comply with health, safety and hygiene policies and practices at all times and ensure standards are maintained. Desirable: Experience with Siemens PLC programming and troubleshooting. Knowledge of health and safety practices in an industrial setting. Experience with SCADA systems. Understanding of control theory (4-20mA, profibus) an advantage. Understanding of a range of industry standard instrumentation such as: mag flowmeters, PT100 temperature probes, pressure transmitters, conductivity transmitters, Inverter motor control, etc. Benefits: Competitive salary package.
