We’re delighted to be partnering with one of our wonderful clients to recruit a Chief Operating Officer for their UK site based in Lancashire. This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious person who is focused on growth and will be responsible for operational strategy and management of the business.

As the Chief Operating Officer, the role will include:
1. Working together with the exec team, you’ll be responsible for all operational/general management activities across the group, providing regular performance updates and recommendations to the CEO and board of directors.
2. Business strategy and plans for future growth, comprehensive goal setting, business processes, making operational changes to plans to meet business goals, and overseeing operational cost control strategies.
3. Creating a coordinated, aligned, and collaborative executive team to align operational efforts with overall business goals.
4. Optimizing business processes for efficiency, managing relationships with partners and vendors, and ensuring quality, safety, and sustainability standards are met.
5. Staying up to date with evolving laws and regulations that impact the business in all locations.
6. Managing any disputes or complaints involving the company and collaborating with external legal counsel when necessary.
7. Operating as an influential change agent to deliver transformational objectives.
8. Participating in expansion activities (investments, acquisitions, corporate alliances, etc.).
About You
1. Proven experience in senior leadership roles within manufacturing/engineering.
2. Financial acumen, forecasting, and budget development.
3. Strong operational and supply chain management expertise.
4. Communication is key, including active listening, articulation, and the ability to adapt communication to different audiences.
5. You’ll have a high level of integrity and dependability.
6. Ability to motivate a variety of teams with different characters with a clear and inspiring vision.
7. You’ll be an exceptional leader and enjoy coaching and mentoring teams.
8. Strategic thinker with a focus on efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
9. Proven experience in delivering transformational change.
10. Strong negotiating and influencing skills.
11. Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving.
12. BSc/BA in Business Administration or relevant field; MSc/MBA is a plus (preferred).
13. Willingness to travel internationally for a minimum of 8 weeks per year.
