Your responsibilities
1. You will work with the UK Communications Manager and Senior Press Officer, to implement a proactive communication plan to support UK business activity and projects – working with the Project Comms team and Uniper stakeholders to develop and implement appropriate messaging for the national, local and regional media, and social media.
2. Become our website expert and maintain and manage the UK pages, working in conjunction with the Project Comms team and our Social Media and website team.
3. Publish press releases via Press Page and maintain the media lists in the background
4. Manage the Press Office mail box, and relevant general enquires, ensuring that non-media enquiries are directed to the appropriate part of the business.
5. Maintain master lists of media for Uniper in the UK
6. Provide PR input to support the business as appropriate, and support the delivery of organisational objectives
7. Act as a deputy spokesperson towards UK media, both proactively and reactively. Respond to media queries by phone or from the press office mailbox as appropriate, using our approved lines to take and as aligned with the business. Maintain log of media contact and response given.
8. Working with the Senior Press Officer, as a point of contact for national/regional media in relation to any site, project or business activity.
9. Provide out-of-hours support, as necessary (for example: to support crisis communications)
Your profile
Essential
10. Demonstratable press office experience including strategic planning and execution skills
11. Strong communication skills – both written and verbal - with good attention to detail and the ability to translate and communicate complex information
12. Able to confidently work independently and rely on own initiative, drawing on own PR experience
13. Excellent relationship building skills, and stakeholder management skills and demonstrable influencing skills
14. Proven ability to meet deadlines under pressure and to manage change diplomatically
15. Proven ability to manage concurrent deadlines and priorities
16. Exceptional team player
Desirable:
17. Energy industry and/or Utility experience desired
18. Experience of working within a matrix organisation
19. Issue or crisis management experience
