The Role
An opportunity has arisen for the role of a Food & Non-Food Technologist at ALS in Rotherham.
We are looking for a Food and Non-Food Technologist to work within the Technical Services team at the Rotherham site. This role must provide technical support to our retailer clients and manage their food and non-food product due diligence. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with industry regulations and maintaining high-quality standards. Do you have the skills required? If so, please read on!
Hours Per Week: 40
Days Per Week: Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent
The day to day
* Using technical competencies to assess product compliance with current regulations.
* Managing product specifications and quality attributes with the retailer food suppliers.
* Gathering testing data for release of retailer marketability report.
* Communicate with clients regarding technical queries and general reporting matters.
* Preparation of food samples for organoleptic testing.
* Performing physical, organoleptic and appearance testing.
The Essentials
* A scientific background (degree level) preferably in Food Sciences / Nutrition Sciences.
* Excellent knowledge of Food & labelling regulations.
* High level of reporting and writing skills.
* Good understanding of the Food Industry and clients.
* The ability to manage projects to tight deadlines with a good understanding of FMCG requirements.
* The ability to work alone and as part of a team.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
* Good computer literacy skills.
* Excellent organisational skills.
* Very high attention to detail and a methodical approach.
