Job Description
As an Underwriting Team Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the underwriting team. You will ensure compliance with relevant lending policies and procedures. Helping to lead the implementation of any process changes to improve efficiencies that will enhance the broker and customer journey and improve the performance of broker packaging.
As an Underwriting Team Manager, we are looking for someone to:
* Lead, motivate, and performance manage the Underwriting Team through a programme of 1-1s, appraisals, and coaching that improve performance and develop colleagues.
* Carry out skills gap analysis to identify training to adapt and enhance the skills of all underwriters so that we deliver excellent customer service and remain competitive in the marketplace.
* Manage relationships with and provide underwriting support to our brokers so that future business submissions are facilitated.
* Ensure that company policies and regulatory requirements are adhered to by all team members so that the business remains compliant and risks are minimized.
* Ensure there is a strong focus on service, with suggestions for improvement being made from all team members to further enhance the customer journey.
* Manage the customer feedback processes, ensuring that complaint responses are reviewed and actioned within agreed service levels.
Qualifications
* Previous experience of managing an underwriting team.
* Previous experience in an underwriting role.
* Proven ability to support, mentor, and train a team to succeed.
* Knowledge of compliance and risk within a regulated environment.
* Desire to provide exceptional customer service and instill this in your team.
