You will:
1. Have full working knowledge of relevant current policies, codes of practice and legislation
2. Experience of working with children of relevant age in a learning environment
3. Working knowledge and experience of implementing national curriculum and other relevant learning programmes and strategies
4. Understanding of statutory frameworks relating to teaching
5. Understanding of SEND (Special Educational Needs) procedures
6. Meet Higher Level Teaching Assistant standards or equivalent qualification or experience (NVQ Level 4/5)
7. Grade C / 4 or above in GCSE Maths and English

Key responsibilities:
1. Monitor pupils' progress and assess, record, and report on pupils’ achievement, progress, and development will be integral to this role
2. Provide learning support for pupils and teachers within a Self-Directed Learning philosophy
3. Take a lead role in the provision of support for children with special educational needs and disabilities
4. Work with pupils, understanding how to motivate and encourage them to achieve and develop through the development of their attributes, skills, and knowledge
5. Act as a Key Worker for identified pupils, regularly liaising with parents and staff to ensure progress against Learning Plan targets
6. Provide objective and accurate feedback and reports as required on pupil achievement, progress, and other matters, ensuring the availability of appropriate evidence
7. Assist with ensuring that effective systems, including Risk Assessments, are in place to identify and meet the needs of students
8. Analyse and interpret assessment data to inform Learning Support, expectations, and targets timely and as required
9. Support and communicate effectively with staff in their understanding and support for the learning needs
10. Support the safe delivery of practical lessons over Zoom (e.g. Art, Food, Design Technology)
11. Organise and manage an appropriate learning environment and resources
12. Complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for learning activities under an agreed system of supervision. This may involve joint planning with teachers, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups, or short term for whole classes across all year groups in the school (Years 3-13)
