The data architect role in Orion’s delivery department is responsible for designing, creating, implementing along with the team, deploying with help of DevOps, and managing with updated documentation of an organization's data architecture. She/He ensure that the data assets align with the overall business strategy, support the software development process, and meet the requirements for data reliability, accessibility, and security. Essential Functions of the Job: Data Architecture Design: Develop and maintain the data architecture for the software solutions, including databases, data warehouses, data lakes, and other data storage systems. Data Modeling: Create and manage data models, including logical, physical, and conceptual models, to ensure that they support the application requirements and business processes. Database Management: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of databases, ensuring their performance, reliability, and scalability. Leverage automated script features/ orchestration in Azure cloud or in GCP Integration: Design and implement data integration solutions to connect disparate data sources and ensure seamless data flow across systems. Especially the legacy systems and data flow between various vendors/application pods Data Governance: Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality, consistency, and security. Collaboration: Work closely with software developers, integration testers, load testing team, solution architects, product managers and business stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide solutions. Technology Evaluation: Evaluate and recommend data-related technologies and tools to improve data management and support new business requirements. Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize the performance of data systems to ensure efficient data retrieval and processing. Documentation: Create and maintain documentation related to data architecture, data models, data flows, and data management processes. Compliance: Ensure that data architecture and management practices comply with relevant regulations and industry standards. Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities: Analyze and resolve business and application problems. Assess opportunities for application and process improvement and prepare documentation of rationale to share with team members and other affected parties. Adhere to high-quality documentation principles that helps delivering solutions on-time and on-budget. Prepare reports, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of software. Proven experience (8 years) as a Data Architect, Data Engineer, or in a similar role in software development. Handson experience with cloud services of database, datalake, ETL, audit and security Technical Requirements: Exposure to JIRA & confluence usage is mandate Must have been worked in 5 years the least in Agile scrum model Understanding of cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) Proficiency in database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL). Experience with data modeling tools (e.g., ERwin, ER/Studio, PowerDesigner). Knowledge of data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery). Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka). Experience with ETL tools and processes (e.g., Informatica, Talend, Apache Nifi).
