Test Engineer
Location: Cranfield
Pay: £27.00 p/h
We are recruiting for a Test Engineer for one of our automotive clients based in Cranfield. You will be working for a globally recognised automotive company. This is a long-term contract role that may run for several years.
Key Responsibilities of the Test Engineer:
1. Leading coordination and delivery of all testing activities and reporting to support and deliver R&D projects to market.
2. Coordination of multiple large and/or small projects as requested by the Test Management Groups Senior Engineer to ensure they are delivered to the project schedule including, arranging feedback hearings, interrogating data and summarising project proposals.
3. Testing by Digital and/or Physical evaluation of vehicle systems and products.
4. Conduct concern investigation, root cause analysis and countermeasure development with relevant stakeholders.
5. Work closely with all areas of R&D to plan, prepare and manage delivery and reporting of testing of projects.
6. Prepare and issue the necessary documentation to the business according to the project schedules.
7. Great communicator with experience of coordinating engineering project activities to get buy-in from stakeholders.
8. Strong administration skills to manage all project documentation.
9. Strong analytical skills to be able to review and challenge information and data.
10. Attention to detail with clear and precise reporting skills and the ability to present confidently.
11. Analysis and presentation of testing status and concerns utilising proprietary systems to Milestone Meetings and Chief Vehicle Engineer.
12. Where appropriate, propose and support with knowledge sharing and process improvement activities within the Department.
13. Management of own workload to defined deadlines in efficient manner.
Qualifications & Experience for the Test Engineer:
1. Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline with minimum 3 years industry experience preferably in an automotive testing environment or with other qualifications and suitable demonstrable experience in the engineering industry.
2. General understanding of product development and the development process.
3. Self-motivation to proactively identify what needs to be done, by tracking, monitoring and reporting on assigned tasks.
4. Ability to prioritise and work autonomously.
5. Confident communication skills as regular liaison with Engineers and Managers will be required, including chasing up late responses.
6. Ability to make clear and concise written reports and verbal explanation to all levels of the business.
7. In depth knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 with particular emphasis on Excel, Powerpoint, Project, Outlook, Sharepoint and Word.
8. Knowledge and experience of Automotive industry is desirable.
9. Experience of Project management, data analysis and logical electronic file management and storage.
Hours & Pay for the Test Engineer:
1. Monday to Friday
2. 39 hours per week
3. £27.00 p/h
