Within the iFA (Integrated Factory Automation) group there is an opportunity for a skilled electrical technician from either a maintenance or installation background. You’ll work to specifications and perform the in-house manufacturing, installation and commissioning of automation equipment. Primarily responsible for productivity improvement projects across site the iFA department deliver bespoke engineering solutions. By designing, building, installing and commissioning from concept to handover we provide the business with cost effective solutions to improve the plants competitiveness. This ranges from AGVs (Automatic Guided Vehicles), Robotic loading systems, transportation systems or smaller applications such as operator tooling, all with the aim of improving efficiency and reducing costs. In this job you will play a critical role by focussing your technician skills to ensure the business needs are met. With the recent plant developments for a new EV we are expanding our workshop team. As part of our department, we offer the ability to learn and develop that cannot be matched. Training courses ranging from Robot programming (Fanuc), PLCs (Omron and Siemens) and Pneumatics etc are just some of a few available. If you’re looking to develop and challenge yourself this is the opportunity for you. Job Requirements Ability to follow electrical drawings and documentation. Building of panels, enclosures, and other electrical systems. Install both power and comms cables. Undertake inspection and testing of systems/ Commission and set-up of new systems from installation to hand over. Ability to fault find and resolve any electrical issues. Ensure all work is carried out both efficiently, safely and to the required schedule. Ability to work alone or within a team. Working on PLC systems (Omron, Siemens etc), training to be provided if required. Experience with Pneumatic systems preferred although full training provided.
