Devon Partnership NHS Trust seeks a Principal Clinical or Counselling Psychologist, or a Psychological Therapist, to join our Core Community Adult Mental Health Team at Wonford House. This senior role offers an opportunity to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed, person-centered care.
Preceptorship Opportunity - Band 7 Applicants Welcome
If you are newly qualified or close to qualification and interested but do not yet meet the requirements for an 8a post, applications for a Band 7 preceptorship role are welcomed. This developmental position includes structured support to progress to Band 8a.
This post is offered at 0.7wte (26 hours/week) Band 8a or 0.8wte (30 hours/week) Band 7.
Main duties of the job
As a Principal Psychologist or Psychological Therapist, you will provide clinical leadership, assessments, formulation, and therapy for adults with complex mental health needs. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to support recovery using evidence-based, tailored psychological approaches.
You Will:
* Provide highly specialist psychological assessments and interventions
* Offer consultation and supervision to team members
* Contribute to service development and quality initiatives
* Support psychologically-informed care across the team
* Be part of a psychology community linked with the University of Exeter and local services

Person Specification
Experience (Essential):
* Experience in specialist settings across various service contexts
* Experience in teaching, training, and supervision
* Leadership experience within NHS clinical psychology/psychotherapy services
Knowledge & Skills (Essential):
* Broad knowledge of NHS services where psychology and therapy are applied
Qualifications (Essential):
* Qualified Clinical Psychologist (D.Clin.Psychol. or equivalent), eligible for Chartered Status
* Registration with HCPC/UKCP or other relevant body
* Training/experience in adult clinical specialisms
