SEN Teaching Assistant - Newton Abbot Daily Rate: £85 - £90 per day Location: Newton Abbot Contract Type: Temporary/Contract (with potential for long-term roles) Hours: Full-time About the Role: Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join schools in the Newton Abbot area. This role is ideal for individuals with a genuine desire to make a positive impact on young learners' lives. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators) to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and other learning challenges. Responsibilities: Providing one-to-one or small-group support to pupils with SEN to help them access their learning. Assisting teachers in the planning and delivery of tailored educational activities. Promoting positive behaviour and creating a safe, inclusive learning environment. Supporting the social, emotional, and academic development of pupils. Implementing strategies to manage behaviour and address individual learning needs effectively. Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external professionals to monitor and report on pupil progress. Requirements: Experience working with children is essential —this could be in a school, childcare, or youth work setting. A calm, patient, and empathetic approach with the ability to build strong relationships with children. Knowledge of SEN and strategies for supporting pupils with additional needs (desirable but not essential, as training can be provided). Strong communication and teamwork skills.
