We are looking for a dynamic and highly skilled Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist to join ABUHB chronic pain management service. This post is based at Chronic Pain Management Centre in County Hospital, Pontypool.
ABUHB Chronic Pain Management Service is a multidisciplinary team of medical consultants, consultant clinical psychologist, clinical nurse specialists and health care support workers. The ethos of the service is in line with Welsh Government guidance to facilitate supported self-management of chronic pain as a long-term condition based on shared decision making and patient-centred care. ABUHB Chronic Pain Management Service offers face-to-face/remote patient consultations, interventional therapy, multidisciplinary clinics, psychology and supported self-management which include individual pain management modules and group based pain management programme.
Main duties of the job
As a clinical specialist physiotherapist, you will provide clinical assessment and treatment as required by the service demands and will be actively involved in the pain management programme. You will have experience in all aspects of assessment and management of chronic pain conditions, demonstrate forward thinking skills to combine highly specialist clinical practice with innovation. You will be committed to following best practice and the promotion of high quality physiotherapy services.
You will have demonstrable leadership qualities and excellent communication and time management skills with proven abilities to build networks across sites and disciplines. Through your knowledge of emerging clinical advances within the specialty, you will be expected to advise and inform strategic planning and future service development.
Clinical support for the post will come from within Pain Services and profession specific support will be available via the Physiotherapy Service. ABUHB chronic pain management service encourages staff development through internal and external training programs, including specialty forums, clinical audit and research and clinical supervision and mentoring. We have a structured personal appraisal system in place with annual reviews underpinned by the Knowledge and Skills Framework.

Education/Qualifications/Training
Essential
* Diploma/degree in Physiotherapy
* Registered with Health Professions Council (HCPC)
* Appropriate range of post graduate clinical education
* Completion of Clinical Educator's course or equivalent
* Completion of an appropriate advanced assessment, diagnostic and treatment course that is recognised/ accredited at Masters level
* Willing to develop competency in Advanced Practice skills
Desirable
* MCSP
* MSc or working towards relevant higher qualification
* Active participation in a relevant interest group
Experience
Essential
* Significant experience at Band 6 with appropriate experience within Chronic Pain Management
* Significant senior postgraduate clinical experience encompassing complex case management
* Senior post graduate experience requiring people management skills
* Experience of and commitment to leading clinical and organisational audit
* Experience of and commitment to teaching locally at an undergraduate and postgraduate level
* Experience of developing and implementing clinical guidelines and standards
Desirable
