Location: Birmingham
We are seeking a team of 2 dedicated and experienced PAT testers to join our team and work on a busy train station in Birmingham.
PAT Tester Benefits:
1. Competitive hourly rates of £17 per hour (Umbrella) - equivalent to £12.5 per hour PAYE direct
2. Bonus up to £500 based on productivity
3. 3 months contract duration
4. Flexible hours (Friday, Saturday & Sunday evening) or Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday evening
5. 6 hours work days
6. Working hours: 7 PM to 1 AM
PAT Tester Responsibilities:
1. Perform Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) on electrical appliances and equipment.
2. Ensure compliance with the relevant health and safety standards and regulations.
3. Record and label tested equipment with pass/fail results.
4. Maintain accurate and detailed records of tests, inspections, and maintenance activities.
5. Conduct visual inspections for wear and tear, damage, or any other potential hazards.
6. Ensure that faulty equipment is either repaired or removed from service until it is deemed safe.
7. Report findings and recommend actions for any defective or unsafe appliances.
8. Work collaboratively with facility managers, electricians, and other personnel.
9. Provide regular updates to management on testing schedules and progress.
10. Ensure that all testing equipment is well-maintained and calibrated.
11. Attend any relevant training to stay updated on safety regulations and testing techniques.
PAT Tester Requirements:
1. PAT Testing Certification (e.g., City & Guilds 2377 or equivalent).
2. Basic electrical knowledge or qualification is preferred.
3. Previous experience in PAT testing or electrical safety inspections.
4. Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in inspections.
5. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
6. Good communication skills for reporting and record-keeping.
7. Basic IT skills for recording test results in digital formats.
