Overview:
The Flavour Network are recruiting for a Quality Assurance Technician for a leading food manufacturing business based in Northampton. As Quality Assurance Technician you'll be conducting audits to ensure safe, legal, and authentic food production. our day-to-day will involve monitoring factory compliance with GMP, hygiene, and quality standards, as well as managing swab and product sampling to maintain the highest standards. Responsibilities for the Quality Assurance Technician:
* Conduct audits and spot checks to support the production of safe, legal, and authentic food products.
* Monitor factory and production standards to ensure compliance with GMP, hygiene, and quality requirements.
* Manage swab and product sampling plans and maintain accurate records.
* Audit cleaning standards and take swab samples from equipment, food contact surfaces, and factory environments.
* Collaborate with senior management to review and address training needs.
* Deliver induction training for new employees.
* Maintain the calibration schedule and associated records.
* Oversee the Corrective Action file, ensuring non-conformities are properly addressed and resolved.
* Ensure staff certifications and training are current and compliant.
* Implement and oversee HACCP and Due Diligence procedures.
* Participate in continuous improvement projects and maintain quality assurance analysis.
* Collect and prepare samples for evaluation, including microbiological swabs.
* Assist with inbound product inspections and traceability audits.
* Identify production practice weaknesses and work with the Technical Team or Operations Manager to develop corrective strategies.
Requirements for the Quality Assurance Technician:
* Proven experience in food production environments.
* Practical knowledge of Quality Assurance (QA) in the food industry.
* Experience performing audits and inspections to ensure compliance.
* Certification in Basic Food Hygiene is essential.
* In-depth understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP principles.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across all levels
