As the Risk Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting the Head of Risk Management to help the organisation in identifying, assessing, managing, and mitigating risks.

Description
The Risk Manager will support the Head of Risk Management in identifying, assessing, managing, and mitigating various types of risks, including strategic and operational risks. This role requires ownership of all deliverables and the quality and timeliness of all Risk reports for the various governance committees.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Writing reports suitable for Board-level executives, creating impactful calls to action across significant elements of operations or the organisation.
2. Presenting risk insights and recommendations to leadership and relevant committees.
3. Leading the timely delivery of activities and assignments across the business or in specific delegated responsibilities.
4. Building strong relationships, negotiating with, and influencing management.
5. Promoting best practices within the team and across the business.
6. Supporting the professional development of the QRA agenda across business colleagues within their specialism and a range of disciplines.
7. Leading on quality assurance, ensuring work aligns with professional standards (e.g., IIA, IRM).
8. Maintaining knowledge of strategy, organisational development, and risks to inform QRA activities.
9. Proactively working with business divisions to identify areas for focus and contributing to overall governance and risk management improvements.
10. Supporting the implementation of robust corporate processes to ensure the organisation operates within its agreed risk boundaries.
11. Fostering a strong risk-aware culture across all levels of the organisation.
12. Managing the team, assessing priorities, and ensuring the quality of the team's work.
13. Actively contributing to the continuous improvement of the team.
14. Contributing to the medium and long-term objectives of the team.
Profile
Essential qualifications include:
1. Ability to deliver high-quality outputs and deliverables with a high degree of initiative in a complex environment.
2. Ability to negotiate and work alongside senior management to promote improvements.
3. Relevant previous experience managing other professionals in executing activities and assignments.
4. Ability to examine, analyze, and contextualize complex issues to develop effective, practical recommendations.
5. Experience managing a team to deliver activities and assignments to time, cost, and quality.
6. Experience working in or with organisations of comparable size and/or complexity.
7. Strong interpersonal, management, and communication skills.
8. A relevant formal professional qualification appropriate to the role (ACA, CIMA, IIA, IRM, etc.).
9. Direct previous experience in audit, assurance, or risk functions.
Job Offer
Up to £85,000 plus benefits.
Birmingham or London based - 3 days a week.
