£25,365 to £28,309 depending on experience (pro-rata for part-time) Nuffield College invites applications for the position of Lodge Receptionist/ Porter. The purpose of this role is to assist in the smooth running of the Lodge and support the College’s activities, including making those who visit, study or work in the College feel welcome. The role will also assist with the booking of guestrooms for College members and their guests, Alumni, Associate Members and for seminar speakers. As the first point of contact for College members and visitors, the successful applicant will be enthusiastic and have the ability to work confidently, and in a calm and polite manner. Assisting with the day-to-day running of the Lodge can vary from operating the telephone switchboard to responding to fire, intruder and critical alarms. Therefore, the postholder will have excellent communication skills, IT & administration skills, and the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively. We welcome applications from those seeking both full and part-time employment. It is expected the hours will be carried out on weekdays, though the exact working pattern will be agreed with the successful applicant. Flexibility is required as the post holder will be expected to, on occasions, provide cover for both the early shift (06:45 – 15:30) and the late shift (15:00 – 23:45). These will occasionally fall on a weekend. There will also be the opportunity to take up overtime.
