CNC Recruitment are currently seeking Factory Operative to join our client in Crewkerne area - a leading trade moulding company in South West area.
Job role:
This role involves preparing materials, loading them into the mould, starting the machine cycle, and performing quality checks on the final products. The Operative is also required to remove flash and ensure that all safety protocols are followed during the process. Additionally, they will participate in the material cutting process for a specific rail contract, which involves using a semi-automatic cutting bench.
Responsibilities
1. Prepare materials to the correct charge weight.
2. Load materials into the hot mould tool in the specified manner.
3. Start the machine cycle by pushing the appropriate buttons.
4. Monitor the machine during operation to ensure it is functioning correctly.
5. Perform any manual adjustments as needed during the cycle.
6. Remove flash from the previous moulding using a knife and file.
7. Trim excess material from the moulded parts.
8. Inspect each moulded part for defects or irregularities.
9. Ensure all products meet the required quality standards before packing.
10. Report any issues or non-conformities to the Production Supervisor.
11. Wear gloves, protective sleeves, and other required PPE at all times.
12. Ensure the work area is clean and free of hazards.
13. Follow all safety guidelines, including the use of personal safety shoes.
14. Operate a semi-automatic cutting bench to cut sheet moulding material.
15. Ensure precision and accuracy in cutting to the specified dimensions.
16. Work both day and night shifts as required.
Requirements:
17. Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
18. Ability to work with manual and semi-automatic machinery.
19. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
20. Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
21. Must provide own safety shoes; other PPE will be provided by the company.
Please note - The factory runs on a 4 day week Monday Thursday.
Day shift 7.45am 6.00pm with an unpaid 30 minute lunch break and two 15 minute paid breaks. There is also a staggered night shift starting at 6.00pm 4.15am and from 9.30pm 7.45am the night shift basic pay rate is as per the day shift plus 25% shift premium .
