The GCSE English Teacher role:
Are you passionate about helping students unlock their full potential in English? We're on the lookout for an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join our dynamic team at Chichester College.
As an English Teacher, you will play a vital role in inspiring and guiding our 16-19 year old students through their GCSE English course. You'll create engaging lesson plans tailored to the needs of diverse learners. Your expertise and enthusiasm will ensure our students are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their English GCSEs and enable them to develop key English skills for everyday life.

Key Responsibilities of our GCSE English Teacher:
1. Undertaking teaching and learning related activities, including tutoring, as agreed.
2. Devising a range of effective training materials, including online materials.
3. Ensuring that appropriate learning materials are prepared and assessments and assignments are undertaken in a timely manner.
4. Delivering training sessions to a range of customers and clients either onsite or at employers’ premises.
5. Liaising with other staff as appropriate to ensure a high standard of learning.
6. Providing effective feedback to clients.
7. Undertaking administration and providing reports and statistics regarding student and teaching matters.
8. Monitoring student enrolment, success rates and taking remedial action where necessary, this will include final assessments where necessary.
Our ideal GCSE English Teacher should have the below skills and experience:
1. Relevant GCSE / Functional Skills / ESOL teaching and assessing experience in related subject.
2. Level 3 (or equivalent) in related subject.
3. Level 3 coaching qualification or willingness to work towards a qualification.
4. Experience in curriculum delivery and associated administration.
5. An understanding of safeguarding vulnerable groups.
6. The ability to manage challenging behaviour within the classroom / online.
7. Innovative and creative in meeting the needs of learners.
