Tasks and responsibilities:
Bleckmann’ Security department is responsible for the development, organisation, implementation and assurance of Bleckmann’ policy and associated processes and procedures. This policy is aimed at achieving optimal security guidelines for the Bleckmann organization and reducing the identified risks.
As a Security Officer at Bleckmann you are creative and independent and, under the guidance of the Bleckmann Security Manager and UK/US Security Co-ordinator, you will maximize the effectiveness of the security policy, taking into account the organizational structure, customers, external environment, legislation and the local environmental factors of our worldwide offices. Bleckmann not only has warehouses spread throughout the Netherlands, but also throughout Belgium, UK, the United States and China. This includes exercising internal and external checks on compliance with the security policy within the relevant region and investigating security incidents. The results of this are used to advise management on incidents, (crime) prevention and security policy. In this way you ensure that Security within Bleckmann is increasingly professionalised. This also includes ensuring continuous risk awareness within the organization with the aim of protecting the organization against the consequences of risks. These risks are direct (financial damage as a result of theft or fraud), but also indirect (brand damage, loss of certifications and therefore loss of competitiveness).
* As a Security Officer you will report directly to the Security Manager and the UK/US Security Coordinator of Bleckmann, you will also have contact with various parties, such as internal Bleckmann departments at home and abroad, official bodies (police, customs, insurance experts, etc.) and Bleckmann’s customers.
* Independently investigate and analyse security incidents (missing stock, theft and fraud) and report them to the Security Manager and UK/US Security Co-ordinator.
* Based on audit findings, advise sites on how to manage and mitigate risks related to buildings, processes and products.
* Increase Security Awareness across the business as well as supporting and advising customers on processes to protect their stock.
* Be a direct point of contact for Bleckmann Security and deputise for the UK/US Security Co-ordinator.
* Protect and process information in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
* Co-ordinate Security Awareness training and compile relevant data.
* Organise and supervise searches, to incorporate staff, contractors, visitors etc.
* Represent Bleckmann Security in meetings with all stakeholders.
* Undertake any other duties deemed necessary by Bleckmann Security.
Profile:
* Possess analytical and creative thinking skills which can be implemented into role.
* Good social, organizational and communication skills.
* Team player who can also work well independently.
* Decisive, honest with good empathy.
* No objection to irregular working hours and travel.
* Security knowledge and experience.
* Previous experience within the transport/distribution industry.
* Competent working knowledge of Word and Excel.
