Further to the recent internal promotion of our Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to Chief Executive Officer, we have an opportunity for a part-time CFO.

We have a remarkable track record of nurturing talent through our Academy, promoting players to the first team, and maximising their performance.
As we strive to achieve our vision of being an outstanding community-owned club, playing football at the highest sustainable level, we are seeking an experienced, commercially minded, growth oriented finance leader to oversee the clubs finances and support our ongoing efforts to improve every aspect of the running of the club.
The key responsibilities of the CFO will include:
1. Financial management: developing and implementing financial strategies, policies & procedures, overseeing the Clubs financial operations, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, cash flow management, monitoring financial performance, and identifying areas of improvement and growth.
2. Financial planning and analysis: strategic financial planning, budgeting, forecasting & scenario planning, conducting comprehensive financial reviews and analysis, identifying trends, risks and opportunities to support decision-making & enhance financial performance.
3. Team leadership: ensuring the finance team is cross-functional and collaborative, providing leadership and motivation to the finance team, and developing a high-performing team.
4. Stakeholder management: fostering positive relationships and open communication with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring transparency to our supporters and Trust members.
5. Compliance: ensuring compliance with the Trust/Club Agreement and regulatory requirements, including UEFA Financial Fair Play and EFL reporting requirements.
In line with the above role and responsibilities, we welcome applications from candidates with a Bachelors degree in finance, accounting, business administration or a related field. Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA or equivalent is highly desirable. Proven experience of at least 8 - 10 years in financial management and operations is required, ideally within the sports or wider events and hospitality industry or community-owned organisations.
Candidates will need to be commercially astute, articulate, technically strong, dynamic, insightful, and influential individuals. We are looking for energetic, highly motivated culture carriers with excellent leadership, managerial and communication skills, a passion for excellence and innovation, and a pursuit of business growth and success.
