About the role
We're looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious Assistant Management Accountant to join our dynamic Finance Team based in our Nottingham head office.
As the Assistant Management Accountant, you'll support the Management Accountant in all aspects of producing Sygnature Discovery's monthly management accounts and the many processes and schedules that facilitate and accompany these. You'll follow and encourage existing best practices with a focus on continuous process improvement to enable quicker and more accurate reporting of financials.
We're looking for an individual who has attention to detail and the drive to produce financial information that is as accurate as possible. You'll have the ambition and desire to learn and develop as we envisage the successful applicant advancing into a Management Accountant role within the team. Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Preparation of accounting schedules for review by the Management Accountant including:
2. Accruals
3. Prepayments
4. Intangible Asset Capitalisations
5. General Ledger Coding Corrections
6. Attend commercial finance meetings with heads of operational departments and other business stakeholders
7. Assist with annual budgeting process
8. Produce actual vs budget variances narrative for Board level reporting
9. Balance Sheet reconciliations
10. Office for National Statistics (ONS) returns
11. Prepare audit schedules and assist with the audit process
Key Requirements
1. Must be part qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA and actively studying towards completion
2. MAAT status would be beneficial
3. Experience in a similar role having had exposure to the general ledger and associated schedules/journals.
4. Ideally a foundation in transactional accounting i.e. Purchase/Sales Ledger.
5. NetSuite or other ERP system experience highly desirable.
6. Proficient with Microsoft office applications, particularly Excel.
7. Keen organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
