Mental Health Act Coordinator
Location: St Martins Hospital
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mental Health Act Coordinator to join our team at St Martin's Hospital. In this crucial role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the safe and lawful care of patients detained under the Mental Health Act.
Key Responsibilities
1. Championing the Mental Health Act:
Ensure all aspects of the Mental Health Act and its associated Code of Practice are adhered to within the hospital setting.
2. Provide expert advice and guidance to hospital staff on all matters relating to the Mental Health Act.
3. Training and Education:
Deliver comprehensive training on the Mental Health Act to all relevant professionals within the hospital.
4. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the legislation and any relevant case law.
5. Scrutinise all MHA documents.
6. Send reminders to all professionals.
7. Ensure all appeals with the Mental Health Act tribunals are adhered to and delivered within the specified deadline dates and times.
8. Manage the part-time member of staff.
9. Deliver training on the Mental Health Act.
10. Provide advice and guidance on the legislation.
11. A sound knowledge and previous experience working with the MHA are a must.
