We have a new opportunity to be part of our Finance team in the role of Cost Analyst - Value Stream & Process with the purpose of leading the effort in optimising cost efficiencies throughout the engineering and manufacturing value stream. The role will involve comprehensive analysis, process improvements, and collaboration with various departments to enhance the overall cost effectiveness of the operations.
Responsibilities:
1. Value Stream Mapping: Develop and maintain detailed value stream maps to identify key areas for cost reduction and provide financial insight to proposed process improvements.
2. Cost Analysis: Perform in-depth cost analysis across the entire value stream, identifying cost drivers, inefficiencies, and opportunities for savings.
3. Process Improvement: Contribute and evaluate financial impact on initiatives to streamline manufacturing processes and eliminate waste, with a view to reduce departmental spend.
4. Cross Functional Collaboration: Work closely with design, production, procurement, and quality teams to ensure integrated and cost efficient processes.
5. Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track cost efficiency and process improvements across the value stream.
6. Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for value stream projects, ensuring alignment with organisational financial goals.
7. Supplier Coordination: Collaborate with procurement to evaluate supplier cost structures and ensure cost effective sourcing.
8. Reporting: Generate regular reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting cost savings.
9. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate cost related risks within the value stream to ensure financial control and stability.
10. Support finance business partner with tracking of actual costs throughout the month, providing visibility of actual cost impact from specific products/projects.
11. Working in alignment with Cost Engineers.
12. Work with ERP development team to review and improve methods of collating and presenting cost data.
13. Provide KPI matrix for cost targets, measuring departments performance against budget stretch reduction commitments, challenging stakeholders where necessary.
14. Assist with budgeting and forecasting.
15. Any other duties as reasonably requested by the Company.
Skills & Knowledge Required:
1. Proficiency in cost engineering processes and systems.
2. Engineering background / motorsport / F1.
3. Working knowledge of engineering processes, principles and methodologies and ability to convert these into meaningful financial data and insights.
4. High attention to detail and superb analytical skills, including competence in identifying trends and forecasting costs.
5. Ability to interpret part drawings and convert to meaningful financial data.
6. Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks, with excellent time management skills.
7. Well-developed organisational skills.
8. Have a hands on practical approach.
9. High professional standards including quality of work, accuracy and attention to detail.
10. Calm and confident under pressure and comfortable in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
11. Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present complex information clearly to stakeholders.
12. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Power BI.
13. Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
