In line with our outlook, we are now inviting applications to cover maternity leave in our Community Inpatient Units.
• York and Selby Community in-patient units
The post holder will work within the Selby and York Community in-patient units as part of the Community and Care of the Elderly Services. The aim and main function of the community in-patient unit bed base is to provide short term rehabilitation, reablement, recovery and end of life care to the patients. The post holder will work as part of the medical team providing acute medical assessment and intervention whilst working closely with the wider MDT, supporting admission from the Hospital and the community and timely patient discharges from the in-patient units.

Generic responsibility and information.
The post holder will be a central member of a multidisciplinary team. The post holder will be supported in keeping themselves up to date with current knowledge & practice, expected to attend clinical meetings within the department & to participate in audit & “in-service” training of other healthcare professionals.
There are no on call requirement for these posts.
The post holder will may be required to deputise for absent colleagues from time to time and to perform additional duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.
The post is not a recognised training post, but would be ideal for those wishing to gain further experience in the specialty as the training, supervision and clinical experience will be similar to that of the training grade doctors and tailored to the postholder’s previous level of experience.
Candidates must have full GMC Registration, and a familiarity with issues of service organisation and development would be particularly advantageous.
