We are looking for a Principal Designer to join our multi-discipline team at Align Property Services to offer their knowledge and expertise to our clients and the wider project team.

Align Property Services is a Limited Company, wholly owned by North Yorkshire Council and we are one of the largest multi-discipline building design consultancies in the North of England. We are collaborative in the way we work, offering a broad range of services in Architecture, Sustainability, Building Surveying, Project Management, Civil & Structural, Transport Planning, Bridges, Highways & Drainage Engineering, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, CD, Property Advisory & Estate Management.
We are dynamic and diverse in our approach to projects, from valuing small gardens to multi-million-pound listed structures including schools, fire stations, care homes and other public and commercial buildings across the UK. 2024 is proving to be one of our busiest years yet, with the development of exciting new projects with North Yorkshire Council and other public and private sector clients and is an exciting time to join us as we continue to evolve.
In this role, you will:
* Prepare all pre-construction information and present to the tendering contractors.
* Review Construction Phase Plans ahead of any works beginning and ensure all works conform to the CDM Regs 2015.
* Identify any hazards and issues in accordance with health and safety legislation and offer workable solutions to the design team.
* Coordinate and prepare Health and Safety files in relation to the projects and prepare and issue F10 notifications where needed.
* Deliver projects across the North of England, with the opportunity for you to travel to sites and oversee projects from design concept to completion.
To be successful in this position, you will be able to demonstrate the following essential skills and qualifications:
* Hold a recognised design qualification.
* Ideally have the NEBOSH General / Construction Certificate.
* Be a member of the APS / IOSH or equivalent professional body.
* Have working knowledge of CDM2015 and associated guidance (L153).
* Significant experience in a CDM Advisory / PD role and understanding of the construction and design processes.
* Be computer literate and competent with Microsoft Office suite of programmes (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
* Hold a full clean UK driving licence.
