Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, motivated and flexible individual to be part of a professional team maintaining and repairing medical devices within Luton & Dunstable University Hospital, and any other associated Trust establishments across the Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust including outreach clinics and establishments used in the course of Trust business. The successful candidate must possess an electronic background with medical device technology certification or equivalent training and experience. You will need to be able to work on your own initiative, have good interpersonal skills and a developed ability to communicate well. Main duties of the job As part of a multi-disciplinary team of specialist EBME bio-medical engineers, your duties will include the commissioning and acceptance testing of new medical devices, carrying out planned maintenance, repairs, fault-finding and electrical safety testing on a plethora of medical equipment. The post holder liaises with Medical and Nursing staff, associated Healthcare Professionals and technical staff to identify faults and repair equipment, including working in clinical areas with intermittent patient contact.
